Terms of Service
Last updated 13 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Auto Video Splitter mobile app and the website at videospliter.web.app (together, the "Service"). By installing or using the Service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service does
Auto Video Splitter splits video files into shorter segments, and lets you crop and reframe them beforehand. Processing runs on your device. The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising.
2. Your content
You keep every right you already have in the videos you process. We claim no ownership, no licence, and no right to use them — we never receive them in the first place.
You are responsible for the content you bring into the app. You must own it, or otherwise have permission to use it in the way you intend. This applies in particular when you import a video by link: supplying a link does not grant you rights over the content behind it, and it is your responsibility to confirm that you may download, edit and republish that material. Do not use the Service to reproduce or distribute content you have no right to use.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- process content that is unlawful where you are, or that depicts a person without the consent required by your local law;
- attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app beyond what your local law expressly permits;
- attack, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our infrastructure or that of our providers;
- automate or resell access to the Service.
4. Advertising
The app displays advertising supplied by third parties. We do not control the content of those ads and are not responsible for the products or services they promote. How advertising data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Third-party services
Parts of the Service depend on providers we do not operate, including analytics, advertising, and — for link-based import — a media processing provider. Their availability is outside our control. A feature that depends on such a provider may stop working, temporarily or permanently, without notice.
6. Availability and changes
We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and may suspend the Service for maintenance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Where a change materially reduces what the app does, we will note it in the release notes.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, or that processing will always produce the result you expect.
Keep your originals. Video processing can fail, and storage can be lost when an app is uninstalled or a device is reset. Do not rely on the app as the only copy of anything you care about.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for loss of data, loss of video files, or loss of profit or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims brought by a third party arising from content you processed with the Service, or from your breach of these terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or use the Service unlawfully.
11. App store terms
The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Their own terms also apply to your download and use of it, alongside these. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no responsibility for the Service.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
